Girls Track 2nd in League; Relay Team 12th in State
The Medford High School girls indoor track team pulled out an impressive performance over the February vacation break and earned second place at the Greater Boston League meet with 88 points. The girls took the top spots in a variety of events. Senior captain Kat Picarde won the mile with a time of 6:11, while the 4 x 200 relay team of Ariana Fiorello, Danielle Joseph, Keshanna Delsignore, and Jasmyn Hawkins nabbed second place in 1:51.99 and the 4 x 400 relay team of Picarde, Meghan Woods, McKenzie Flynn, and Hawa Dumbuya also earned second with a time of 4:42.88. Other Mustangs contributing to the win include: Anya Pierre-Louis, 2nd place, 55 meter hurdles, 9.45; Fiorello, 3rd place, 55 meter dash, 7.75; Hawkins, 4th place, 55 meter dash, 7.85; Delsignore, 3rd place, 300 meter dash, 45.69; Woods, 2nd place, 600 meter run, 1:51.93; Flynn, 2nd place, 1000 meter run, 3:35.95; Dumbuya, 4th place, 1000 meter run, 3:41; Dumbuya, 3rd place, High jump, 4-04; and Fiorello, 2nd place, long jump, 15-04.5.

In addition to placing second at the GBL meet, the girls placed second overall for the winter season.

Following the GBL meet, the 4 x 200 meter relay team of Hawkins, Fiorello, Delsignore, and Joseph ran their fastest time of the season by 2 seconds at the state meet. Their 1:50.9 mark was the 12th fastest time in the state.
