Fletcher SchoolUndergrad, Grad Programs Top Ten in Nation

Tufts University’s undergraduate and graduate international relations programs recently received high marks in a global survey.

In the Teaching, Research and International Policy (TRIP) survey of IR programs, Tufts’ undergraduate program was ranked 10th in the nation, while the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy’s master’s program was 4th. Tufts’ undergrad program was tied for 10th place with the University of Michigan. Harvard, Princeton, and Yale took the top 3 spots, respectively. Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, and Harvard earned the top 3 spots for their master’s programs.

According to the Tufts Daily, representatives from both programs said they were pleased with the results.

“I think being tenth in the nation is something to be quite proud of,” said Kirk Lange, the assistant director of Tufts’ undergraduate international relations program.

The survey was conducted by the Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations at the College of William and Mary. It polled 2,724 international relations scholars around the globe.

The Fletcher School is America’s oldest graduate school for international relations.
