Stand for Children Meeting Thursday

Parents, Officials Come Together for School Funding

Medford’s chapter of Stand for Children will meet on Thursday, February 5 at 7PM in Medford High School’s Little Theatre.

“Stand for Children” is a group dedicated to promoting children’s needs among policymakers.  The Medford chapter was founded by parents and School Committee member Ann Marie Cugno last year.

The group will discuss funding challenges and how best to work together to advocate for public schools.

Mayor Michael McGlynn and School Superintendent are expected to attend the meeting to discuss recent local aid cuts that are impacting the schools.  Noah Berger, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center, will also be at the meeting to discuss the state budget crunch and how it is affecting local communities.
