2nd Annual Medford Fit for Life Run/Walk Sunday

Officer Patrick FaheyEvent Held in Memory of Officer Pat Fahey

The second annual Medford Fit for Life Road Race and Walk will be held on Sunday, June 8, in honor of Medford DARE Officer Patrick Fahey.

The race starts at 10AM and will begin and end at Medford High School. Participants are invited to walk or run a 5K route or walk a 1.2 mile route through West Medford.

All proceeds of the event will be donated in loving memory of Officer Fahey and will again help several deserving Medford children attend the Medford Community Schools summer camp program.

Officer Fahey served on the Medford Park Police and Special Police before being appointed to the Medford Police Department in 1997. Officer Fahey received the DARE “Officer of the Year” award in 2005.

The race is organized by School Committee member Ann Marie Cugno, City Councilor Breanna Lungo-Koehn, and teachers Kristin Howell, Jack Dempsey, and Allison Goldsberry.

Several local sponsors are providing prizes and refreshments, including Modell’s Sporting Goods, Raso’s Grille and Pizzeria, and Saucony. The event is also held in cooperation with Linda Fahey, Medford High School, Athletic Director Bob Maloney, Medford Department of Public Works, Medford Police, and Medford Fire.
