Senator Jehlen to Hold Budget Forum Thursday

The following announcement is from State Senator Pat Jehlen’s office:

State Senator Patricia Jehlen (D) Somerville will be holding a forum entitled “Balancing the State Budget” on Thursday, March 13th from 7-9 PM at the West Medford Community Center, 111 Arlington St., West Medford.

This will be the third annual Town Meeting briefing on the “Hows and Whys” of balancing the fiscal year 2009 Massachusetts State Budget. The forum will feature David Sullivan, General Counsel to the Governor’s Office of Administration and Finance and Noah Berger, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center.

Residents of Medford, Somerville, Winchester and Woburn are invited to attend this informational forum. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and ask questions. This is an excellent opportunity for interested citizens to learn how the budget process works and how the decisions made impact you and your city or town.

This forum has been a tremendous success in the past and Senator Jehlen is hoping that this year will be the most successful forum yet. There is ample on street parking available at the Community Center and refreshments from Danish Pastry will be served. For more information contact Senator Jehlen’s office at (617) 722-1578.
