Mustangs Named Winter GBL All-Stars

Several Medford Mustang athletes have been honored for their athletic prowess during the winter season by earning a spot on the Greater Boston League All-Star team.

Medford High School Athletic Director Robert Maloney has released the following names, with more to come over the next few days:

The Girls Varsity Ice Hockey team skated their way into the state tournament after a 5-1 win over Cambridge Rindge and Latin Tuesday.  The girls enter into tourney play with an 8-6-2 record.

The Boys Varsity Basketball team will hold a Senior Night at their Friday, February 15 home game against Dracut High School at 7PM.  The Boys Varsity Ice Hockey team will hold their Senior Night for their 4PM game against Beverly High School on Saturday at Loconte Rink.

Longtime coach George Scarpelli is leaving Medford for Somerville.  Scarpelli has accepted a position with the recreation department but will still coach girls softball this spring in Medford.  He will be sorely missed!
