Wind, Sleet Coming to Medford Friday

– Allison Goldsberry

Medford is in for sleet and rain driven by high winds on Friday, starting around 10AM.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for this area, as a strong cold front is moving in and could bring wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

The highest winds are expected between 1AM and sunrise.

The National Weather Service warns that the winds are strong enough to bring down small tree limbs and branches and could potentially cause isolated power outages.

Wind advisories are issued when sustained winds are expected to be upwards of 39 miles per hour or when wind gusts reach strengths between 46 and 57 miles per hour.
