Medford voters are heading to the polls on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 to make some big decisions.

Most of the city will be voting solely for a presidential candidate. In the days leading up to the race, stay tuned to InsideMedford.com to find out who some Medford residents are voting for and why. Email news@insidemedford.com if you’d like to submit an opinion piece about your favorite candidate. Pieces about candidates from all parties are welcomed and encouraged. InsideMedford.com will run them starting next week.

Part of the city will also be voting in a special election for state representative. Three Democratic candidates are vying for Jim Marzilli’s seat- Arlington School Committee members Sean Garballey and Jeff Thielman and Arlington resident Andrew O’Brien. The candidate with the most votes will advance to compete against independent candidate and business owner Bob Valeri and Republican candidate and former Arlington Town Moderator John Worden.

InsideMedford.com has the latest information for voters all in one spot on the “23rd Middlesex Race” section of the website. There voters will find candidate statements, a voter guide created by the League of Women Voters of Arlington, candidate website links, current and past coverage of the race, a district map, and more.

Also be sure to check out two candidate forums for the race. The Arlington League of Women Voters is sponsoring a candidate forum on Thursday, January 24 at 7:30PM at Arlington Town Hall. InsideMedford.com and the Medford High School Social Studies Department are also sponsoring a candidate forum on Tuesday, January 29 at 7PM at the Medford High School Marsha Caron Theater.
