Heavy Snow Warning in Effect for Medford, Area

Eight to Fourteen Inches of Snow Expected

A powerful storm developing along the Carolina coast is expected to bring eight to fourteen inches of snow to Medford and much of the state.

The storm is predicted to hit Southern New England very early Monday morning, with most of the heavy snow falling before daybreak and then slowing down in the afternoon. The snow could call as much as 1 to 2 inches per hour during the peak of the storm early Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a heavy snow warning for the area, which will be in effect from midnight tonight to 7PM Monday.

The city has declared a snow emergency as of midnight until further notice.  No parking is allowed during a snow emergency on the following emergency arteries: Boston Avenue, Central Avenue, College Avenue from George Street to Boston Avenue, Forest Street, Fulton Street, George Street, Governors Avenue, Grove Street, Hancock Street, Harvard Avenue, Harvard Street, High Street, Lawrence Road, Main Street, Medford Street, Mystic Avenue from Main Street to Crescent Street, Playstead Road, Riverside Avenue, Salem Street, Spring Street, Washington Street, Webster Street, Willis Avenue and Winthrop Street.
