The Medford City Council will hold its first meeting of the year on Tuesday at 7PM at City Hall.

Councilors Stephanie Muccini Burke and Breanna Lungo-Koehn will likely be elected as Council President and Vice-President, respectively, for 2008. Lungo-Koehn also served as VP in 2007 and Muccini Burke served as President in 2004.

The top item on Tuesday’s agenda is snow removal-related hassles. Patricia Weld, a Hancock Avenue resident, has requested to speak before the Council about parking problems and street plowing during snow storms. Councilor Lungo-Koehn has sponsored two snow-related resolutions seeking that a larger plow is used to clean Willis Avenue and that Medford residents receive reverse 911 calls during snow storms reminding them of their legal responsibility to clear their sidewalks.
