First snow, then sleet and freezing rain hit Medford on Sunday, creating an icy mix that makes travel hazardous.

Two storms in four days have piled more than a foot of snow on the city.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the area until noon time Monday, with winds expected to be 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour possible.

In addition, the NWS has also issued a flood statement due to the rain and excessive run off from melting snow. People should watch out for elevated water levels in small creeks and streams and possible flooding on roadways, low-lying spots, and areas with poor drainage.

A snow emergency has been in effect for Medford since 9AM until further notice.
