Medford High School and vocational school students have come up with creative ways to raise money for a good cause during the holiday season.

Savvy students in the vocational school’s culinary arts program have found a way to raise money for their program while showing off their kitchen skills by selling fruit cakes and figgy puddings on ebay.

There’s only a limited quantity of the traditional holiday treats available. Both are selling for $19.99.

Culinary Arts Intructor Robert Drobneck said that his students use only the best ingredients to create the two-pound treats.

“Our cakes may not be ‘magazine quality attractive’, due to our collection of vintage cooking vessels, but they are in our opinion yummy and our students try their best…As their Instructor and an Ebayer of longstanding, I am using my own account and reputation to stand behind our delicious products.” Drobneck wrote on ebay.

Looking for a unique gift or just need a break from the holiday stress? Key Club students will stop by your home and sing your favorite Christmas carols for a twenty dollar donation that will benefit the Toys for Tots program.

The annual caroling will take place on Saturday, December 15, Friday, December 21, and Saturday, December 22, from 6PM to 10PM. To sign up simply send an email to parent Jack Coakley at jjcoakley@comcast.net with your phone number and a time and address you’d like some holiday cheer. You can also call 617-780-9712 to sign up.
