Call to Young Artists

Local Gallery Gives Youth Opportunity to Display Work

– Marc Gurton, Owner, 13FOREST Gallery

13FOREST Gallery in Medford is collaborating with The Art Connection of Boston to create an exciting opportunity for youth to exhibit their work in a gallery.

After the exhibition, which runs from November 29, 2007 to January 15, 2008, the work will be donated to area non-profits to display for their clients who do not have regular access to art.

Works can be submitted from any youth age 13-18 relating to the theme “What’s the Story?” This is a unique chance to be part of a gallery exhibit as well as to have young artists’ work featured in community centers, health clinics, treatment centers, etc. across greater Boston, through The Art Connection program. The exhibit gallery is in Medford Square.

An opening reception will be on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 6 – 9 p.m.

All Massachusetts youth ages 13-18 are encouraged to submit their work.  All artwork must be ready-to-hang, original work executed by the artist in the last two years.

Artists may submit up to three works; no entry fee is required. Files must be submitted along with submission sheet to story@13FOREST.com. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 7 p.m.
