A fight in the parking lot left one kid stabbed and at least one suspect on the run after last night’s football game against Somerville High School at Hormel Stadium.

According to police, a fight broke out between two individuals at 9:14PM in the parking lot right as the football game was letting out.  Another individual jumped into the fight and stabbed one of the other two individuals in the side of the chest.

The victim, 18-year-old Rakim Scott of Medford, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment of his wounds.

According to Medford Police Lt. Paul Covino, Scott was released from the hospital Saturday morning.

Police say the suspect was a black male in his late teens wearing black pants and a colorful shirt.

Lt. Covino said the investigation is on-going and police hope to make an arrest soon.

The stabbing happened just after the game in the parking lot as the crowd was leaving.  One witness called the scene chaotic, with kids running to watch the fight and police and emergency vehicles responding.

School Superintendent Roy Belson said police are still investigating and he will speak with police this week about the incident and will determine what steps the school will take.

According to Belson, Medford police, the Anti-Gang Task Force, and Medford High security officials were at Friday’s game.

No further details are known at this time.

Anyone with information should call the Medford police at 781-391-6405.
