A renovated two-family home on West Street is available in affordable housing lottery for an income-eligible buyer.

According to Medford Affordable Housing specialist Erica Schwarz, for a shot at the lottery applicants must meet federal guidelines for a first-time homebuyer, earn less than 80% of Greater Boston’s median income, and must fall under local preference guidelines.

The owner will live in the 3-bedroom duplex unit and will have to rent out the 2-bedroom unit to a low-income qualified tenant.  The city will assist the landlord in finding a qualified tenant.

More information, including an application and qualifying guidelines, is available on the Medford Affordable Housing website.

Information sessions will be held Wednesday, September 26, from 5PM-6PM at the South Medford fire station and Thursday, October 4, from 7:30pm-8:30PM at City Hall.

The lottery will be held October 22 at 5PM at City Hall.
