Medford Americans Fall to Cassell Club

The Medford Americans fell to the top-ranked Cassell Club at Trum Field in Somerville last night.  Cassell’s Bryan Lambert became the Intercity League’s first to win eight games.  Lambert tossed 9 strikeouts and allowed only 3 hits.  Josh Klimkiewicz hit a 3-run homerun.  Americans standout Mike Pagliarulo reached base twice.

In other Americans news, Johnny Welch has signed a professional contract to play for the North Shore Spirit in the Can-Am League.  Welch joins former American Jerod Edmondson in the pros.  In late June Edmondson was signed by the Nashua Pride, also in the Can-Am League.
